Powering the Paris to Banbridge Challenge

On the 7th September 2026, Cool FM's Pete Snodden, Paulo Ross and Rebecca McKinney are taking on their biggest fundraising challenge yet: cycling from Paris to Banbridge to raise more than £100,000 for Cash for Kids Northern Ireland. Why We're Involved

At Omexom, supporting the communities where we live and work is an important part of who we are.

We've been proud to support Cash for Kids through campaigns including Mission Christmas, and when we heard what Pete, Paulo and Rebecca were planning, we knew we wanted to get behind them.

Every pound raised through the challenge will stay in Northern Ireland, helping Cash for Kids support children and young people affected by poverty, illness, disability, additional needs and other difficult circumstances.

Day 1 / 6

Day One: Paris to Dieppe

The challenge begins in Paris, as Pete, Paulo and Rebecca set off on the first leg of their epic journey home to Northern Ireland. Leaving the French capital behind, the team will make their way north through the French countryside towards the Normandy coast and Dieppe. It’s the first chance to settle into life on the road, find their rhythm as a team and put months of training into practice. After a full day in the saddle, they’ll reach Dieppe ready to cross the Channel, with five more challenging days still ahead.

Day 2 / 6

Day Two: Newhaven to Bicester

After crossing the Channel overnight, Day Two begins in Newhaven on the south coast of England. From here, the team will head north on a long journey towards Bicester in Oxfordshire. With the excitement of the Paris start behind them, this is where the scale of the challenge will really begin to sink in, as another full day of cycling takes them further through England and closer to home. Tired legs will already be starting to make an appearance, but there are still hundreds of miles to go.

Day Three: Bicester to Warrington

Day Three sees the team leave Bicester and continue their journey north towards Warrington. By now, Pete, Paulo and Rebecca will have already completed two demanding days of cycling, but there’s little opportunity to rest as they take on another significant stretch of the route. This marks the middle of their six-day challenge and another major step towards Northern Ireland. As the miles continue to build, teamwork, determination and plenty of encouragement from everyone following their progress will become more important than ever.

Day 4 / 6

Day Four: Warrington to Carlisle

The team continues north on Day Four, leaving Warrington behind and heading for Carlisle. With three days already completed, this will be another test of stamina as they make their way towards the Scottish border. By this point, the accumulated miles will undoubtedly be taking their toll, making every mile completed an achievement in itself. Reaching Carlisle will represent another important milestone, with the team having travelled an incredible distance since leaving Paris and just two days remaining before their long-awaited arrival back in Northern Ireland.

Day 5 / 6

Day Five: Carlisle to Stranraer

Scotland awaits on Day Five as Pete, Paulo and Rebecca leave Carlisle and continue towards Stranraer. It’s the final full day of cycling on the British mainland and another demanding stretch after four consecutive days on the road. Their destination on the west coast brings them tantalisingly close to Northern Ireland, with just a ferry crossing separating the team from the final stage. After hundreds of miles through France, England and Scotland, the finish line is finally starting to feel within reach, but there is still one very important day to go.

Day Six: Belfast to Banbridge

They’re home! After travelling from Paris through France, England and Scotland, Pete, Paulo and Rebecca arrive back in Northern Ireland for the final leg of their incredible challenge. Setting off from Belfast, the team will make their way to Banbridge, knowing that every mile brings them closer to completing the journey and, most importantly, their fundraising goal for Cash for Kids. After six days and almost 800 miles, this final stage will be a celebration of everyone who has cycled, donated, supported and cheered them on along the way.

More than a bike ride

For Pete and Rebecca, who don't consider themselves cyclists, the challenge has meant months of training alongside Paulo, including spin classes, static bike sessions and increasingly demanding road rides.

And there's another challenge waiting for them each day. Despite cycling almost 800 miles, the trio will continue broadcasting the Cool FM Breakfast Show live every morning along the route.

The challenge has a particularly personal meaning for Rebecca, who is taking on every mile in memory of her dad, who passed away earlier this year. A lifelong sports fan, he encouraged his family to push themselves outside their comfort zones.
